dual boot

i installed windows server 2003. then installed windows xp. after installing windows xp, i can't boot into windows server 2003, even though the option to boot into is still available at the selection screen. when i select to boot up windows 2003, i get a blank screen. help! Thanks!

no messages at all, just a black screen. maybe the boot files from windows server 2003 got replaced by those of windows xp?

Of course! :D
Maybe the other way round would work...

if u r not 2 sure of wat u r doing with windoz boot loaders the next time, install a 3rd party s/w like osloader

Go to reinstall XP, but choose to Repair it. This should fix your boot sector messup.

Next time always remember: Rule 1 - install OLDEST OS FIRST up to the NEWEST OS LAST.

Do as IPDAVE said but

i figured it out, no backward compatibility. to fix the problem:
replace the ntldr & ntdetect.com on the harddisk with the ones from windows server 2003's i386 directory. Now, you dont have to install the newest os last :p
