drives dissapeared?

my drive d is a liteon dvd rom
drive e is phillips cdrw
I have just changed the phillips for a pioneer 105 dvd writer, straight swaped all the conections.
Now on boot up my pc does not recognize any of my drives both d and e have disapeared?
I have tried the add new hardware wizard but nothing.

SOUNDS LIKE --- me right now! ARGH!

With the CenDyne I had (tried), I would suggest D/C Philips and delete driver before shutdown. D/C the drive and see if plug N play picks up new drive even as UNRECOGNIZED.
