well i dont know wha happend but my dvd drive and cdrw drive dont work because of the drivers or something so i uninstalled them and installed them again but as it was finishing it said that they r connected but may not work propertly and they dont even work so i try installing my external cdrw for the 1st time on this pc and i get the same problem does anyone know how to correct this problem? when i go to the properties of either of the roms it says code 39

hummmmmmm didnt know you had to install specialist drivers to get dvd drives/ide drives to work !? only the software to use them ?!?? dont know what operating system you are using here !?
presuming you are using some form of windows and not linux or beos or other then .......
try this goto my computer right click and choose propertys
then choose device manager
scroll down to where your dvd drive is located and click to highlight it and choose remove and click ok
then do the same with your external CDRW and then hit apply or ok and choose yes when prompted to reboot !
and when it reboots it should install them as windows is loading and install the correct drivers ?!
usually this fix works most of the time !? if not then let us know here what windows /operating system you are using and the make and models of both drives and we will try and help you more !

If uninstalling/reinstalling the drives doesn't work,it could be the registry.Viper's suggestion is the first thing to try.
Easy Cd Cdreator is a major cause of code 39's.

hey guys so much for your information i got my drivers to work again by following vipers guide and the one from the link where u have to del the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values both before rebottiing thankx again guys and oh yeah i was using Win XP Pro
on yeah and it was due to nero not roxio
