Drivers for Pavilion zd7050ea

Just got a HP Pavilion zd7050ea Loaded OS onto (it Win2k) but I can't find a driver for the sound card . HP Website doesn't have any info regarding manufacturer/make of the sound card Can any body help please? Info Link Etc!!

Look in your control panel for system and then in the device manager to see what the make of your sound card is.

Oh, did it come with a rebuild disc? All your drivers should be on their.

And a few simple things to check.
The sound icon on the taskbar.
Is the volume muted?
Control panel-sounds and audio devices.
See what is loaded, maybe you have the intel audio and you can work with that.
Plug in a set of headphones.
If they work, maybe it's your speakers.

I doesn't list what type of soundcard it is in the control panels it just says that the driver is missing. I have already looked on hp website and microsoft updates. I bought the laptop yesterday and I didn't get any install disks with it. Tried putting headphones in no luck there. I don't want to take the machine to bits if I can help it to find out the manufacturer. What a pain in the Ar5e

You can try to let it update from the device manager to microsoft on the internet. They might have a driver for it.

Try the Intel Chipset Installation Utility from the drivers page.

I got a separate sound card now,but when i bought a pc i was using the integrated one,for pavillion753n.
I had a same problem as you and it was difficult.
Do not wait for packard support-they wont help,their only response is to sent you a backup on cd.
Its a 7 cd package with xp and other varius garbage like norton av,veritas burning thing oem version4 and etc...
Btw,its a probably ac97 integrated...Why dont you use a sisoft sandra or aida32 to be sure what it is??
Btw,i solved problem with windows update-manual update-driver for ac97
