DreamWorks partner with Minority Report

Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI - News) announced today that the company has teamed with DreamWorks on a multi-million dollar promotional campaign to promote the Minority Report(TM) video game and Minority Report(TM) DVD releases. The partnership includes cross promotions with DreamWorks Home Entertainment and DreamWorks Records, a national consumer sweepstakes and retail initiatives for the Minority Report video game.

"DreamWorks is an ideal partner to help us reach our target consumers," said Dusty Welch, vice president, global brand management, Activision. "By working with DreamWorks to develop such widescale marketing activities, we're able not only to tap into their support for the DVD release, but also work with their music label to cross the boundaries of music and interactive entertainment. These programs, along with our strong retail campaign will help us reach our core audience this holiday season."

Under the terms of the agreements, DreamWorks Home Entertainment will place the Minority Report game trailer on the DVD, which is slated for release December 17. Activision will in turn include a DVD promotional trailer on the game. DreamWorks Home Entertainment will also promote the Minority Report videogame with an extensive national television advertising effort for the DVD, including programming on high-profile primetime, syndicated programs and cable outlets.

Activision has also produced an exclusive "Making Of" the Minority Report video game featurette available at participating retailers, which contains gameplay tips, promotional trailers for the videogame and features behind-the- scenes footage of the game in development.

Activision will also work with DreamWorks Records on a cross-promotional partnership to leverage in-game exposure for DreamWorks Records recording artist The Apex Theory, whose track "Apossibly" is included within the game and whose music video is featured in the game's bonus materials section. The companies collaborated to create the promotional music video, which will be released online and features actual game footage. Activision will also promote the band on the Minority Report game packaging and instructional manual as well as highlight the group on the game's online site _www.mrgame.com. DreamWorks Records in turn will feature the music video and the videogame's promotional trailer on more than 30,000 copies of its Fall Sampler CD-ROM to be distributed to more than 350 record retailers nationwide. The companies will also collaborate on a national radio promotion hitting the Top 25 U.S. markets, online promotions and a grass roots marketing campaign using street teams to distribute postcards at local record stores, music festivals and at concerts featuring DreamWorks artists across the country.
