Dragging sound in my VCD

I've just ripped my 1st VCD from DVD using Chickenman's tutorial. It worked perfectly!!! The video quality is very good!I saved my 1st 2 gem vcd's, very fulfilling!!!!
I tried editing my ripped files (2 .mpg files) by cutting some of the unnecessary scenes using TMPGEnc 2.58plus, and then merging them back into one file. I burnt it into vcd using nero, ignoring the incompatibility error of the mpeg file. When I played my vcd in my standalone vcd player, the sound is dragging although the lipsynch is normal & the video quality is excellent. I tried playing it to other players, the same problem.
How do I cut / join mpeg files without affecting its audio or video quality?

If u got an incompatability message with nero then either u didnt encode it correctly (the tutorial produce completely compliant mpegs) or when you cut and merged you didn't select mpeg 1 video cd.
Worth double checking the other settings u are using wiyh nero against the tutorial as they need to be followed exactly.

Thanks for your input. I did not notice & select the Mpeg-1 Video CD.
Now, it works like a charm!!!!!!!
