Does Easy CD Creator's, Drag-to-Disk work with WinXP now?

I have always used Easy CD Creator in the past and just loved DirectCD, but when I upgrade to WinXP of course DirectCD cause all kinds of problems and now I use Nero for burning and a trying a mix match of drag and drop programs.

So I ask the question above. I definially turn off the IMAPI burning software the WinXP gives you because it's a joke to use.

Thanks,
Debbie

The updated version should be ok - but I believe the original release version on the V5 CD is troublesome.

Unfortunately, DCD is not separately downloadable for Easy Cd Creator, only for WinOnCD - and I doubt the WinOnCD version would validate against ECDC - I shortcutted when installing a friend's one, since I'd grabbed an "accidental" realease of the WinOnCD version of DCD that didn't bother to validate at all (needless to say, it was pulled in a fairly short space of time!).

I've used Nero + DCD, and I have a feeling that once Nero has been used, DCD is dead until rebooted.

I believe they are now calling DirectCD, Drag-to-Disk.

I'm willing to give "Easy CD Creator 6" a try again if the "Drag-to-Disk" works with WinXP.

Thanks,
Debbie

Easy Cd Creator

I have Used Easy Cd Creator in all its forms from the early 2 speed record days and am using version 6 now never had any problems reading or writing and never lost data on cdr-w with it I don't load every upgrade unless there are definate benefits. Lucky? not realy just use good judgement and wait till other people have tested them first I suspect too many people reckon if there is an upgrade they must have it whether they need it or not

im using WinOnCD 6.02 with DirectCD 5.3.4.21 SP6 ...mainly for the DirectCD and it works flawlessly...even use it with a DVD-RW+ without any problems....never used the dragtodisk....should work about the same..with the updates

Easy Cd Creator

Just another observation a good number of people (Bless Em) who complain about losing software on direct cd and other re-writer software often have rewritable disks that look as though someone has been skating on them and covered in fingerprints (grease) I often find this when Reinstalling Windows for people. they have no idea about looking after disks and blame the software when they lose the data on them. A little care and thought does help and save dosh of course this of course goes for any cd

Good point.

I can just remember when I first started using WinXP and was still trying to use DirectCD like I did with Win2K and kept getting the 'Device is not working' error from DirectCD.

Some people could get it to work even then, but I will give it another try and if it gives me any problems I will wait another few years to see if they make it more compatable.
