does an ERD disk from 1 computer work on another computer?

can i use an ERD from 1 computer on another computer? one of my computer 's first disk went dead, and before trying to reinstall the OS (if that's even possible), i should try to use the emergency recovery option, but i never made the ERD disks on that computer; can i create ERD disks from another win2000 computer to work on that computer (also on win2k)?

It does work, although it's not recommended. Just get sure the disk is made with the same OS' files, else you might screwup due to different NTFS versions.

oh great! that's good to know; yeah both computers were installed from the same win2k CD install CD. However, I am afraid that the disk might be corrupted b/c last time it was fried (the second western digital HD within 2 months), it had the same symptom

Basically, if it's not recognized in the BIOS, then there's nothing u can do to salvage it right?
