Made excellent quality divx avi with divx 5.03 off of satelite on the fly,just was wondering in the dark scenes you see like a circular wave in the background the people pictures are real good and when you come to a well lit seen it is all gone,just dark seens this shows up ,i presume as i use a video camera with less light i get the same thing ,has this have to do with pictels[not enough if not enough light or is there a way to fix this?

Thats more a problem of the DivX codec. Most DivX movies have that problem.

Thanks for Reply ChickenMan ,one more thing if i use this same codec in a fast moving war type movie i get blockness and dropped frames just in the fast motion area,do i need a different codec for faster movies??

I believe Xvid is quicker ( I re-encode Xvid movies quicker than DivX4/5 movies) but I really cant help you with settings as I've never used it. Blockiness in fast action sections is the result of bitrate being to low and dropped frames due to your system unable to cope with the larger data transfer needed at that point in time.
