DivX to VCD Problem

Wasn't sure where to post this but, I have read the DivX to VCD Turoirl many times and I can't see where I went wrong. After the divX file has converted, I go and chack to see if it worked. There is no sound at all and the quaulity has diminished more than is should.

File spifc.

640 x 352, 24 Bits, 79849 Frames, 23.976 Frames/Sec, 215 KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3

The DivX copy I had of Blade2 had AC3 sound. TMPGEnc cant handle that, but dont know why it didnt through up an errror for you.

Read the tutorial and in particular the bits at the bottom about stripping out the Audio with VirtualDUB, encoding to WAV file.

As for drop in quality more than you expected, I assume you had TMPGEnc setting for Motion Search Precision set to Highest Quality (Very slow)

yes I did hae it set to Highest Quality (Very slow). I read somewhere that Nero has a buil in encoder. So I burned one with that not sure if it works tough cuz i have no dvd rom or player. But I will look at the VirtualDUB thing

ok, well anyway I got VirtualDUB and i got this error:

"Audio Samples 0-22049 could not be read in the source. The file may be corrupted!"

what dose that mean?

Either the download or file is damaged or you dont have the correct codecs installed.
Right click on the file and choose properties.
What audio codec is used?

DIVXMPG4 V3 And I have the nimo433.exe with all the codecs on it installed. Also I dled the DivX 5.0.2 codec from cdrsoft, works but the audio skips

The codecs u mention are video.
What is the audio. mp3,ac3?
Also does the divx play ok?(does the sound skip on that as well)

no, when I play the DivX file and no skips. When I extract the audio it skips. I don't know, I whet to properties and it says unknown format..... I have no clue

Go to the DivX to VCD tutorial, at the bottom there is a method for extracting AC3 audio, I suggest you follow that method to do a final conversion of the audio file to WAV.
