Divx to DVD probs

I've followed CM's guide to converting a Divx to DVD but near the final hurdle using TMPGenc Author I got 2 error messages. First was "The capacity of the DVD was exceeded" and the second "The combined bitrate of the clip exceeds the upper limit for a standard DVD"

Can anybody shed any light?

I have updated the Tutorial to fix the second erroe, just untick "DVD Complian" box in Encoder/Advanced settings. You can also just ignore the error.

The first problem can come from setting the CD Size in Bitrate window just that bit to high, or selecting the wrong Audio bitrate. What have you set both of these to ?

Hi CM

I unchecked the box second time I tried to convert it but I still got the same errors. The bitrate settings I used were as per guide: 9000 max, 200 min; Max Avg 7200. I didn't convert the MP2 to AC3 though - Would that make a difference? Ive had a look in the DVD2VCD folder and I don't have ac3Enc anywhere. If I need to convert the MP2 where can I get AC3Enc?

Thanks for the Bitrate settings but what did you have for CD Size ?

Converting the MP2 to AC3 wont change the final dvd overall size and is not the problem. As I said above I would suggest you lower the CD size from waht ever you used. Try 4400
