DivX-movies in slow motion or hick-up

I made a fresh install of Windows XP (Pentium III 700 Mhz, 500 MB ram) and installed DivX pro codec 5.11.
But some .avi movies play in slow motion or like hick-ups.
I had this problem before formating the hard-drive, but the new installation didnt solve the problem.

Any solutions?

Get Gspot and find out what the codec used in the video really is.
It may be XviD.

These 3 movies have the problems I have reported: slow motion and hick-ups.
Can you help me with this?

MS MPEG4 and DivX 3 can't use CPU eaters like qpel, bframes, etc. But you might want to check the DivX5 file to see if it does.

My advice would be to try ffdshow for decoding instead and make sure that post processing is disabled.

So, celtic_fruid, should I uninstall DivX and install ffdshow?

Shouldn't matter. If you enable DivX in ffdshow I am pretty sure that it will take over the fourCC whether DivX is installed or not.
