DIVX 5.02 Chicken -Man [Help]

Help i'm stupid[i think] talked to chicken man said to try useing DIVX to make good quality avi's to make into svcd,got the program,got the tutorial,but i cannot find on the program to capture avi,maybe i did not understand or missed something any help from anyone would be appreciated.

sorry, can you elaborate more on that?
I mean, are you doing it from a DVD or with a video capture card?
Are you ripping the DVD into a DivX then to SVCD or do you have an AVI file (which is encoded in DivX) that you want to convert to SVCD?

I'm useing ati 7500 aiw card to make avi file,but im lost to making a divx file to use in making svcd conversion in dvd2svcd.

It all depends on the software your using to capture with. Your were capturing to MPEG1 then converting these to SVCD. If you CAN capture to AVI then that would give you a better final SVCD.
