Divx 5.0.1 pro.......

I just wonder if anyone of you could answer my question.

When i install divx 5.0.1 pro, it didn't ask for serial number. How come it said on Divx homepage that Divx pro is cost 30$, but it didn't ask for serial when i install it. I download this divx 5.0.1 pro from CDRsoft with a keygen. It doens't make any sense to me.

It's a classic question,

the answer is :

you need the serial when you try to "encode" using the codec,
such as when you use Virtualdub.

if you use it just for playing or viewing (decoding) the codec
never ask the serial.
