Disk T@2

Well,U must use the metal Azo(dark blue)type of CDR to have a perfectly tattoed copy.Other type of media is not very suitable.
Another matter is that owner of the Yamaha CRW-F1 can upgrade
their Nero 55813 to the latest version by choosing the upgrade
option when requested by the software.Voila! U will get an OEM
Nero-Yamaha latest version in no time.

Nero 5.599 runs perfectly with the CRW-F1 - it doesn't actually need to be the OEM version because the Yamaha's Disk T@2 firmware is correctly understood by later versions of Nero regardless of whether or not you are using a Yamaha license/serial.

Regarding disks for T@2ing, I would agree that you do need a coloured-dye CDR for visible T@2s, but I have actually had BETTER results than the dark blue disks, when using green disks, such as the older multispeed Discrite CDRs (MedeaInternational used to sell these, and so did Jessops - these days they only do the newer silver disks, sadly). I am also looking into the Nugen WhiteTop CDRs, since these are still available in the slightly older coloured-dye flavour, which I believe will be excellent for T@2ing. I will let you know how I get on with these, when I have mail-ordered some for the purpose.

I must say that I was amazed at the subtlety that the CRW-F1 is able to reproduce on the T@2s - it is NOT simply a case of "two-tone" black and white - subtle shadings in photographs are reproduced with extraordinary clarity.

Oh, and the drive rips and burns superbly too - it's a bit noisy when seeking, but much smoother in operation than my Plextor.

i got one and i must say i'm impressed with the T@2 quality. Supposedly it's 128 levels of grayscale and 200 dpi. Nero's T@2 editor sucks though. I had problems with it crashing on me and stuff. (5.5.9.9) And it would be nice to easily put the track list running around the disk. Are there any other T@2 editors?

T@2'ing is good for gifts and such. What chick could resist a disk with her name on it and a few roses?

Yeah, the Yammy does great T@2s with the right media.

I agree that the T@2 editor leaves a lot to be desired, but since it's only just been developed, I think we should be fair and give them a little time to improve it - "Rome wasn't built in a day". I am surprised you have experienced crashes with the T@2 editor - so long as you give it the necessary few seconds to refresh the disk-layout when you insert a new disk, I find it is perfectly stable on my system. What is your system config / O.S.?
