In my humble opinion

Which disk speed is better to buy for backing up PS2 games 4x or 8x or doesn't it matter.

The best speed to backup your PS2 games is 1x, so 4x media is the cheaper alternative. I say most will agree with me on this one. Best media for most drives is ritek G04 for 4x media or ritek G05 for 8x media.
I personaly use ritek G04 Injet printable never let me down.
