It's BIG, and includes both debug and retail runtime - AND the full reference rasteriser (for graphically correct, but VERY slow results, even if your card does not support DX9 - and minimal support seems to mean DX7 level drivers or better)

There is a bug/exploit possible with DX9.0a and earlier (basically ALL versions from 5.2 upwards)

Note: DirectX 9.0b has been released at the same time as this security bulletin and contains the security fix discussed in the security bulletin. DirectX 9.0b can be installed on all versions of Windows except Windows NT 4.0 and can be downloaded from the following location:
