Deleting an Archive File?

I using XP with F-Secure for and antivirus program and every once in a while F-secure tells me I have a virus. Well anything I do to get rid of it it tells me "The object could not be disinfected. The file is located inside an archive." Also if I tell to delete it I get something simular. So my question is can I delete and archive file and how?
In safe mode the folder wasn't there in windows it tells me Access is denied. Well thats funny because I have Admin rights.

I think that is for system restore m8 :)

If the virus is in drive\system volume imformation, then it cant be cleaned as windows locks it, easiest way to get rid of it is to disable system restore as that will clear all restore points, then U can re enable it :)

BaNzI :D

Funny you should say that after I made the post I found system restore was on well I don't like it that way, but windows must have turned it back on. Thats one of the first things I turn off after a new install. Hopefully that fixes it. Thanks :)

note also here if a files in use by another program then you will not be able to delete it so its usually best done in safe mode or in dos from a boot floppy or dos tool disk :)
