Custom dual layer firmware for the 107/106?

I have been playing with a custom dual layer firmware for the 107 for quite some time now, and while it seems to be giving good results for dual layer +R discs, there seems to be trouble with dual layer -R discs (especially around the layer change).

To that extent, the DVR-106 dual layer firmware seems to be less problematic (probably because it burns dual at 2x instead of 4x for the 107)

With a good patch, I should be able to release that firmware in a couple of days.

Still even so the media for daul layer will be the next problem which one to use????......

So if they don't have any dual layer media how would anyone know if its works with dual layer burning? Just a thought.

Still joke or not I'll wait untill at least 1 year before I buy a DL burner....
It took mi till family 7 of the Pioneer range before I got my own DVD BURNER...

And if its just not talk you could already have one. That could be nice. Now I just hope OPTORITE follows but if they don't I'm still happy with what I got.
