crw3200

i've a problem with the infos written on the homepage of CD Mate ( h**p://cdmate.copystar.com.tw/enu/recorderlist/list_y.htm#YAMAHA) :

name interface write burnproof efm
CRW3200E USB2.0 RAW-96 Safe-Burn -
CRW3200IX ATAPI/ FIREWIRE RAW-96 Safe-Burn support

that would mean that the IX (that is firewire and not atapi) supports EFM but the E version (that is atapi and not USB (usb is UX)) doesn't support it.
can someone say me if that burner can produce working copies of sd2 or not ?

None of the Yamaha's can do correct EFM encoding that is required for perfect SD2 backups. It needs help in writing the image. The new Clone version might help it to write a working backup.I would suggest using slow read, and write speeds and make sure AWS is enabled in the write settings.

I can't advise on Cdmate (haven't tried it recently).

Hope that helps.;)

i just found a cd (stronghold) burned from a clonecd-image and clonyxl detects it as safedisk v2
is that an indication that the burner works with sd2 (it was burned using an older version of clonecd (any 3.x.x.x) and i don't think i activated aws.
and i can play stronghold with that cd and without any crack.

I would imagine AWS might have been enabled.I just checked the Clone site w*w.elby.de/ none of the Yamaha's are EFM capable.Good thing is, I think you proved it works with AWS.;)
