Cracks and XP Pro

Has anyone else had a problem applying cracks to XP Pro? Recently I have tried a few cracks without any luck.

For example Ulead MediaStudio v6.5 cracked works fine with my Win98 SE machine, but with XP Pro the nag/time limit screen shows up and is un-crackable.

I've had problems with several cracks which work fine with my dual booted WinME but not with XP pro. They were older pre XP progs. which might explain the non-compatability.
