Copyright Protection

Hi,

I have just purchased a Pioneer DVD-A07xla burner and was looking forward to making some copies of my fav movies. The burning software that came with the player is Ulead, it tells me when I go to copy a movie that the disk is copyright protected. Can anyone recommend how I can bypass this protection with some freeware ?? Or if I have to purchase some software what is the best you can recommend. I have done some searching and have found a couple of options but I am still a little unsure as to the best way to solve this ??

Thanks

Thanks Mate

Thanks Mate,

I didnt realise burning a dvd is such a long process ........... I will give these instructions a shot. If I were to go out and buy some DVD burning software, do any products on the market exist that will bypass the copyright protection. Or is the way you suggested really the only way that I can get past the copyright protection.

Thanks

The dvd decyrpter/dvd shrink method is not that long winded compared to the other ways available. Dvd5 discs are easily done with dvd decrypter, the tutorial is showing you how to do a dvd9 disc which means you have to sacrifice the extras and just rip the film or use compression to copy the film inc the extras. The tutorial is slightly out of date considering the release of dvdshrink 3.1 and updated dvd decrypter though.

Hi Rollins,
Stevie Boz is the man... For newbies (myself included fer sure) the easiest and fastest way to get started is with DVD Shrink 3.1.7 To download the zip:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm
It's free too!!
All you gotta do is:
1) insert your dvd movie and cancel your player
2) bring up DVD Shrink
3) click on "open disk"
4) when it's done reading the disk, click on "back-up"
5) when it's done it will eject your movie and you just insert a blank DVD
6) when it's done it will give you a message telling you it is.
7) eject your disk, label it, and enjoy

it's all that simple!
of course, now that you've found what you can do, you'll be wanting to do lots of other variations of "backing-up" in the future, but that's all in the other forums........ :D
