So here's the deal:
I have this DVD that has some TV shows copied off of Cable someone did for me. I can't seem to play it on my DVD player, which ordinarily has had no problems. It seems to think the files are MP3s or something. It's apparently a SVCD recording because there are 4 shows without commercials on each of my discs.
I can play them on the Nerovision player okay, apparently.
But when I've tried to use Nero Recode, it stalls at about 50% or so with a message about cannot read from the specified device. I've tried copying the VOBs off the disk onto my hard drive (not that I know a whole lot about what the heck I'm doing) and the system keeps freezing on me.
I don't know if it's because it's a DVD-R (don't know whether it is or not), or the external device stalls or what. Somewhere, in one of the applications, it said something about "UDC ISO 9660 model". I suspect maybe I might have to try TMPGNC instead of Nero to try to recode them? Point me in the right direction on the Board to try something with them, or else I've got 4 new drink coasters.
