Copying separate episodes from dvd to 1 dvd-r

I am trying to copy 6 separate episodes of a comedy show from a dvd-9 onto a dvd-5. I have used the tutorial available here by elPresidente up to the DVD Fusion section (this program crashes when I load in my ac3 and m2v files) but I am using DVD Maestro for authoring instead.

My problem is, after Maestro creates the DVD files to go in my VIDEO_TS folder, each complete episode has the same set of files with the same name: VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO and VTS_01_1.VOB. If after authoring each episode, can I rename each subsequent set of files to VTS_02.... VTS_03 etc, and if I do, will this affect the DVD structure or will it play successfully?

Hi vcd_pat

6 copy DVD-9 to DVD-5. Wow what a big job you have. That means you need 12 DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW 4.7GB CD disc, I'm right

Each DVDs it has same set of files with the same name: VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO and VTS_01_1.VOB. Event on the market Hollywood movie as well. No different.

Only the VTS_01_0.IFO is not the same. Why? This .IFO is an opening menu chapter set and Audio on Digital Dolby or DTS Surround sound, to control the DVDs. The FBI Warning as made in the 1st play mode.

If you rename each subsequent set of files to VTS_02.... VTS_03 etc, and if I do, will this affect the DVD structure or will it play successfully? 100% will affect your DVD-R. Trust me. You can't rename the VIDEO_TS Folder. Is not the way to do it.

You are using DVD Maestro for authoring. Uninstalled your DVD Maestro. 6 DVD-9...will take you a long long time to complete all. Why not use" DVDXCopy 1.30 the new version " Have you knew this...

This software it does copy DVD-9 to DVD-5 in 3 steps only. No authoring, no encoding, no rename, no extra work & etc. Just copy 1:1 everything in a 2 DVD Disc 4.7GB. The software will auto detect 2 DVD Disc for DVD-9 8.5GB Single Dual layer. Is that easy to do it.

Here is the site of the software:

Hi ac3cd... I think I may've confused u. I don't want to copy six dvd-9's onto one dvd-r (that really IS impossible!) I want to copy 6 episodes (they are all on the same DVD-9)....each one is ½hr in length. The DVD-9 is 7.71gb in size, i want to compress each episode with CCE and author each one as a seperate episode but I want to put all 6 episodes into the same VIDEO_TS folder. I don't want to rename the VIDEO_TS folder, i just want to know if I can rename each one of the 6 authored files to VTS_01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06. Let me know if this makes more sense. Thanks.

OK! I know what you are going to do. A DVD-9 with 6 Ep. 7.7GB. But why you need to separate the 6 episode? This DVD do not have chapter selection?

You still can't rename the VTS_01, 02, 03, 04, 05 and 06. A DVD with max 8.1GB size is only up to VTS_01, 02, 03, 04, & 05. These name is giving by the authoring program. You cannot just rename the VTS. It won't play at all.

6 Ep in a DVD. What you can do is made chapter point on your authoring DVD Soft. Even you have made 6 separate Video file xxxxx.m2v and xxxxx.mpa or .ac3. All this, you still need to input into your DVD Author program. From the main menu, marke your Chapter point.

Last, Why you need to rename all VTS_01, 02, 03, 04, 05, & 06? This I really not very clear...:(
