i am wanting to back up my new pc games but can't get them to burn i keep getting error messages. so i guess they are copy protected. is there a way to copy them? if so what do i need? and what are the steps? thanks.
it says unable to read from disc maybe dirty or have scratches the discs are brand new and have no scratches i use recordnow for my hp easy cd writer never had any problems trying to copy cd to cd before
Normal mastering software like RecordNow, Nero or EasyCD does not suffice for backing protected disks. You should use the right software (Alcohol 120%, or Blindwrite, or CloneCD, or...) and consult the tutorials in this forum.
check for protections on the disk with "alcoholer" avail here use the search button alternativly search for "clonyxxl" or "scout" all three programs will confirm yes or no if a disk as protection or not !? then use any of the above programs mentioned above to copy
the three protection scanners here will transfer the correct settings to the desired program for burning
This has worked for me numerous times and it's a good idea for backing up games. I use WinISO to make an iso of the CD's and if I ever need to give a copy to someone or to use later I would use Nero or any other burning software that will do iso images to burn the CD's. You don't have to worry about the CD's being dirty or scratched up. Hope this helps...
