copying DVD's with copyright limitations

I just got a burner and it came with roxio software (easycd/dvd creater) but when i try and copy a regular dvd movie it won't let me continue because of copyright on the disk !! Is this normal do i need other soft ware to avoid this what do i do ?? as you can tell i'm new to this !!

U have to rip the DVD first to remove the protection (I use DVD Decrypter)

This one is a good way to start Laz's Tutorial (using freebie s/ware)

PS Bin the Roxio S/ware Trust me most everything else is better!!

You do need other software... but first and foremost you do need to get rid of Crooxio software (easier said than done, once you have installed it- the uninstall option in the control panel does less than half the job).

I agree about roxio. Get rid (if you can). I use stomp recordnow max v4.5 to burn my ripped movies and dvd decrypter to rip them.

i have roxio too and came with interacual player is the the problom when i go to burn dvd backup roxio always puts a little lock on blank dvd or says no dvd in drive then when i go to burn using elby it always says no dvd detected till i go back to roxio then do a quick format then back to clone dvd then it sees it and reformats it just seems weird roxio even seemed to destroy a new dvd-rw disc doing this

I agree. Laz's tutorial is one easiest and still get the best quality. Give it a try and lets us know.

To play or burn? To play a DVD try PowerDVD by CyberLink.
As far as burning goes you should have that covered. Also if you don't have a pioneer burner try CopyToDVD instead of BAO. Good luck.

There are quite a few programs that will let you do it.Some are 1 click and some are more advanced.Give our tutorials a read to find out more.
