Copying DIVX movies to VHS tape No Colour !!!

I hope it`s ok to post this question here, as I don`t know where to turn to.

I have hooked up the video and audio out from the ALL in Wonder graphic card on my PC to my VCR. I have changed the PC to 600 * 800 resolution and selected TV output in the preferences.

I get a colour desktop throug the VCR to my TV (Co-AX lead) but when I play a movie, using BSPlayer I only get Black and white through the VCR. If I use the Composite out from the Graphic card I get Colour, but very low quality, I really want to use the S Video connection

Am I doing something wrong, I thought this `transfer` from PC DIVX to VCR would be easy to achieve

Help please

Thanks

it depends on what format the divx is in. If it is ntsc and you have a pal vcr or tv then you could get no colour.

It is Possible that u are using a low grade quality cable, Try to get a higher grade ( thicker) cable. Also try increasing the color saturation at the divx decoder filter settings.

The cable is the highest quality

I don't think it is lack of colour it is distinctly black and white

I am transferring PAl to PAL

As I said the desktop displays in colour and Composite out from the graphic card gives colour but of a low quality

It's just S video !!!!!!

P.S.

I am inputting the S Video to my VCR via a S Video to Scart adaptor, I already changed this for a new one in case it was faulty. This adaptor is meant to convert S Video to the scart input on my VCR, I wonder if this is where my problem lies !!!!!

there's no way around this. it's a really annoying problem.

i use the s-video and composite cable at the same time because the colour is not carried through my output!!! the composite gives colour the s-video helps improve the picture.

the problem is in the card, not the adapter or cables.

a note here to consider is if the rip has been done from D.V.D and not had the MACROVISION protection removed in the ripping it can be problematic :(

I could be wrong here, but maybe the problem is going from a digital source to analogue(vcr).Try connecting the S-video out from your video card directly to S-video in on your Tv.Maybe that will work.

have you tried putting both signals into the adapter (svideo and composite)?? i find the svideo signal improves the overal quality loss caused just be the composite signal (although some colour is reduced).
