Could be a fiew reasons why, but I would say try uninstalling your copy software and make sure you have aspi layer 4.60 installed (or other if you want, but that one works best I think) and then re-install your copy software again.
Also double check to make sure you have disabled winXP's own recording:
Open up "My computer" and right click on the CD Recorder. If your CD recorder was detected as a CD recorder there will be a tab called "Recording". On this tab uncheck ALL of the boxes. apply or OK out of it and close my computer.
