i have a hard question to ask, after i have downloaded a movie or a cartoon from kaza or someplace like it can i put this movie on a cdr and play it in my home dvd player instead of playing on my computer, what would i need and what kind of steps it would take to do it because i have tried everything i can think of and i am probably doing it wrong these movies can play in windows media player or divx but can i get them to play in my home dvd player thats what i would like to know because it would beat having to watch them on a small screen any help will be greatly appreciated as i am new to doing this kind of thing with computer and such. thanks for your help

If your dvd standalone plays cdr discs then it is possible. Not all dvd players support cdr check your players specs first.

yes, to add a little more to what bertieg said, if the player doesn't say it supports CD-R, then you could also look for VCD/SVCD marked on your player.
Ofcourse even if they say VCD/SVCD doesn't mean they will play CD-R discs well.
But if it does, then you would have to convert your files (DivX/Mpeg/Mpg) into VCD/SVCD standards. Then they should play on your standalone DVD player (that can also play VCD/SVCDs).
The tutorials on how to make them are in the tutorials section by our very own ChickenMan.
Good luck
