does anyone know if 'copy controlled' cd's cause probs on the pc. cover says they are compatible but will it be ok? using musicmatch 9 and nero 5.9 on XP pro ;)

Neither of those two programs is good for copying copycontrolled audioCD's... in fact none is good if your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM cannot read the disk properly (in short, the issue is STRICTLY hardware dependent, some devices will work while some others won't). What are you using to read the disk?

I have no experience with either of them, but it seems you're on a good track:

According to that reliable reviewer the NEC doesn't read 99-minute audio CD's, but has no trouble extracting audio with Exact Audio Copy out of copyprotected disks. The same site also has a very good article on protected aaudio extracting with EAC (and some other apps), and of course you can find plenty of related threads here by using the "search" button. EAC is not the only application which can rip copyrighted audio disks, but arguably it's the best audio ripper out there, period and fullstop.
