Copied DVDR not playing on portable DVD

I currently use DVD Decryptor for my decrypting, DVD Shrink when I need to reduce the size of the movie. When I'm able to copy an entire DVD with the ISO R/W mode on Decryptor, the resulting DVD copy plays just fine in my Panasonic DVD-LV50 portable. But when I have to shrink it, it gives the message "This type of disc cannot be played. Please insert a different disc." I've tried both +R and -R to no avail. They all play just great in my new player hooked to the TV. I've even tried shrinking and burning to a DVD then using DVD Decryptor in the ISO mode, once again, no go.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

My Playstation only plays DVD-RW and DVD-R, I made some movies with DVD+R and DVD+RW and waisted 3 DVD's on this. I dont know, but with soo many formats, soo many companys developing many diffrent DVD players, not every DVD player supports all the formats and so on. Anyway, this dont answaer ur q'.s.
