hey, i was wondering...is there anyway i can watch movies on my ps1? maybe converting the mpg or avi movie files to str? thanks!

I think the only way is to make a standard VCD out of your mpg/avi files & use the addon for your PS1 to play VCD movies.
If someone knows otherwise, I believe that to be the only way. Unless ofcourse you have the needed tools to make the same CDs used in your PSX (as in the same encoding format, to convert your movies into their standard files). Haven't heard of this though.
