Converting MPEG files to DVD files for DVD player
Shawn, I have been working with various programs, video cards, etc., over the past 2 months, and have finally gotten through the insane maze of how to make DVDs. I would be glad to help you in any way I can. Basically, I have found that I can make a very high quality DVD, from an MPEG-2 file, for up to 2 hours and 55 minutes of video. (At the very highest quality, the total time is less, perhaps 2 hours; still experimenting with that.) With MPEG-1 files, I can get a good quality video DVD with up to 6 hours of video. When there are fast moving scenes, you can tell you're not watching live TV or original DVD, but with regular motion, the quality is surprisingly good. I can also help with how to add menus and chapters to your videos. With all due respect to both the discussion groups and TMPGEnc DVD Author's own guide, there are many steps omitted. People get so used to performing them, I believe, that they just don't think about writing them down. I do, and I will.
