Contest ...

Hi all,

If you find it funny, I would invite you to a LOGIC contest. If you have the answer, send it to me via PM, so that the others don't see it. After, let's say 24 hours I will post the results . There is nothing to win, it's just for fun and if you don't like it, just disregard it. Also please be fair and if you already know this problem don't reply.
So, here's the problem:

You have a room with one door. No windows and the door is well sealed so that no light can be seen. In the room on the ceiling there is a light bulb which is switched off. Outside the room you have 3 (three) switches. You are allowed to play with the switches as often as you want, but you are allowed to step into the room only ONCE. After that the door will be closed FOREVER. You then have to indicate which switch is the wright one which switches the bulb in the room on and off.

VERY IMPORTANT: no destructive measures are allowed, you don't have any instruments to play with, no tricks (like keeping the door open or other stuff) are allowed.

There you go !! Good luck ! :)

Ok guys and girls,

so 24 hours over ... and no answer. Just 28 views. I therefore assume that this was to childish to post here. Well, since I'm not able to remove the post, I'll leave it here and you now have unlimited time to solve the problem. If you like, of course.

Hey, I received 4 answers so far !!!! 2 bad and 2 GOOD - in fact PERFECT answers.
For everybody on this forum to know:

ZOLTAN was THE FIRST to give the perfect answer. I also want to mention lew498 who was the second to give the good solution.
The two of them, I hope, are enjoying their beer, which they definitely deserved !!! :p
Because I also received PM asking me to post the answer, coz they cannot sleep anymore  I will leave it unsolved for the next 24 hours, maybe others want to join the "Good-Answer" - Club, and after that I will post the answer. OK ??

C'mon, it's not that hard. Don't think of any tricks, it is really not a gag. It is a problem which can be solved technically. I'll give you a hint: think of any possible features a light bulb has ...

Back again to announce that davydz was the third to join the Club ... he's now drinking the COCA COLA (coz he was only the third and gave the answer after the hint was posted) he deserved.
Nevertheless, I want to highlight that also his (her) answer should not be underestimated compared to the first two. In fact the same merits and credits are offered to davydz's solution.

To all other out there ... keep thinking and smiling :)

SOLUTION ....

So, it's time to check this ... Because I would like to honor Zoltan, who was the first to send me the right solution, I will quote from his PM:

Assume the switches are numbered 1,2 and 3. Switch on number 1 and wait for 10-15 minutes. Then switch it off and switch on number 2. Enter the room. If the light is on, obviously its number 2. If it's off touch it. If it is warm then switch 1 is the right one. Otherwise its number 3.
There were others as well, solving this. Some gave the same solution, while others had something else in mind. What I would like to highlight: EVEN THOSE WHO GAVE ANOTHER SOLUTION, MORE OR LESS DESTRUCTIVE, SHOULD SEE THEMSELVES AS WINNERS. A BAD SOLUTION IS (MOST OF THE TIME) BETTER THAN NO SOLUTION AT ALL .

Ehm ... I would have another little problem ... would you like to ... ???
