I have a Trust Speedshare Home Wireless Web Station ,connected with my main computer through a RJ45 cable and a nic 10/100......My daughter has a wireless connection on her computer through that router, and my laptop too....
What I want to say is that most of times, you can connect 4 wired connections to a router, several wireless connections and still share an internet connection with all :) .....

cheers for the info roady :)

I can get the router and usb LAN in a deal cheaply new :)

just have to wait for them to restock bleh :)

A friend of mine has the WRT54G. He has 1 wired and 1 wireless through a USB to wireless Linksys adapter with no problems. I like the setup options and how easy it seemed to configure (to me anyways).

I have a Netgear WGR614 with 3 wired PC's, 1 wireless PC and 1 Playstation 2 through a RJ45 to wireless D-Link adapter. The only problem I had was my phone. Its frequency is 2.4GHz which is the same as the router. Anytime a call came in or went out the wireless network went down. Changing the channel on the router solved the conflict. My Netgear was on sale, but now that I have seen both, I think I like how the Linksys configures better.

I have read that USB networking requires more system resources (like a WIN modem) than a NIC. Also, even though you can mix wireless B & G together, from what I have read it reduces the speed of the network to the G devices.

The maximum number of clients on a router is something like 253. Additional wired devices beyond the 4 can be added by daisy chaining hubs/switches to the router.

Hey Friends..

I Have A Router, Ive Noticed On One Thing The Lease Obtain And Expired Dont Seem To Work Correclty On All Routers, I Have Tried All Belive Me..!

Some May Work, If Your Router Dont Refresh Its Lease Then NO Internet Until It Refreshes Or You Manually Do It..!

This is the best reason NOT to use DHCP unless you have so many PCs that you don't have time to set each one (like 20 or so..).

I always set a static IP to each machine, then I can use the router to direct/allow only the traffic needed to each - ex: web server, ftp server on different boxes.

I would avoid using DHCP on a network where there are also wireless machines, but for a normal ethernet network it's absolutely safe.
