i bought the same recorder and have the same problem with a 4.7 gig disk that cant fit over a 2 hr movie ?????? why it wont allow overburn...im stuck just as you and are looking for answers myself it was bundled with Power dvd, sonic my dvd ,arc soft show biz, and pioneer record now dx...

Good guides on doom9.net too.

BTW a lot of members got a pioneer over xmas so expect a big rise in posts on this subject over the coming weeks and months.

Yep I GOT ONE FOR CHRISTMAS !!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for shouting, couldnt resist. Yep, I've been somewhat busy looking at the best ways to get VCD and SVCD files to DVD format. Have posted a Tut on how to convert AVI/DivX to DVD already. BAsically once you worked out how to author properly, then its all quite easy. I'm still learning !

I wanted to make a DVD with 3 films in vcd (mpeg1) format. So I added these films in Dazzle DVD Complete to author them, and dazzle accepted them and recompress the audio only and then burn them! The problem was that I could play this dvd on my pc normal but my standalone dvd player read it as dvd and play it, but without picture, it plays the menu and the all the 3 films only with sound.

i have these programs..that came with the burner .thats supposed to do a direct disk to disk burn .but when i try it says not enough room on the recording disk..now the record disk is 4.7 gig and that allows for a 2 hour movie and no overburn..but out there somewhere they have a dvd #7 or 9 which is a 7.6 gig which will hold any 4 hour movie or better.....but where to find them..now !!! that is the question......plus i'm still dying to do a dvd exact copy burn.....dax300@aol.com.....or here....

max size disc is 4.7 or dvd5.
U can do a 1:1 copy of dvd5 to these, but anything bigger will have to be ripped, stripped, split or re-encoded, or all of these!
Thats just the way it is.
For 1:1 of dvd5. Use dvd decryptor, set mode as read iso, read it.
Then set mode as write iso and burn.
Unfortunately most dvds are dvd9.
