cmr4 problem

i have downloaded the rip version to try before i go and buy the original.now with it being a rip i have to copy the contents of the cd to a new folder then run the setup batch file.when its finished unpacking everthing i cant get the game to run.the screen goes blank as if its going to come on but it goes back to desktop.is there anything else i should have done?

I could be wrong but I don't believe they offer a try before you buy version. So that being the case I have no choice but to lock this.
