cmmpu error

help please, my neigbour has just had the cmos battery die on him. i have installed the new battery no probs. when i boot it up i have an error box on screen:- this prog has performed an ileagle error "cmmpu" and will be shut down. i m not sure if the the two are connected as my neigbour is at work and i cant ask him. can anyone shed any light on my prob and perhaps help with a solution..... thankyou...

C-Media’s MPU-401 Emulator for MIDI driver for the CMI-8330 and CMI-8338 C-Media chipsets.

Recommendation :
This is a Windows 95 only driver, and is necessary only under Windows 95. If you are running a later version of Windows and are not experiencing any problems with sound or CMMPU, then leave it alone. Otherwise de-install the drivers, then delete CMMPU with Startup Manager, and finally go through the DRIVERS section of this website to download more up-to-date C-Media drivers.
