CloneDVD Version 1.1.7.1

CloneDVD 1.1.7.1

My 2 cents worth:

In all fairness to Elby, I decided to give the latest version a go to see if it performed any better - Boy was I surprised! Now all I use is Dvd Decryptor and CloneDvd 1.1.7.1. There is one small drawback nontheless - you need to go into the movie setup of each DVD to find out what sound encoding options are available for each one, and then select those settings in the burning setup of CloneDvd. I burned something like 4 movies before I found that there was no sound, quick lesson learned there. All in all, it seems to be a fine app now, and look forward to a couple tweaks to make it a premier dvd burning tool.

I have the trial version of it, and i successfully burned a DVD with absoulutely no problems. I love clone CD, so I'll probably end up buying the Clone DVD software. But first one question? In burning all extra features, does this compress the main feature too or does it just compress the files for the extra feautures?

Hmmm, how exactly do you do the Movie setup portion?

I set DVD Decryptor to strip the DVD using "File Mode", then press ctrl+A to select all files, rip them to the HDD, usually C:\JOYRIDE\VIDEO_TS (example). Next, open Clone DVD and select "Copy DVD Titles", then point to the dir for the ripped files (as shown in example above), and select the "VIDEO_TS" folder. Once you do that, Everything will be shown in a new window, just click "next" in the bottom right corner. Make sure you have browsed the DVD beforehand to see what audio options are available, then select what type of encoding you want on your new movie under "Stream Preferences", and click "next". A new window will pop up and you will need to name the movie each time you use Clone DVD under "Volume label". Once you've done that, click next, sit back and relax - your'e on the way to a new DVD rip!! Enjoy!!

As stated in my previous post, you need to play (browse) the dvd, and go into the audio setup area to see what is supported in that particular dvd so you can choose what audio option you want when burning your copy.

Shouldnt it be on the cover of the dvd?????5.1 2.1 dts???

Not necessarily - sometimes, especially when you use rented movies, they give you the movie in a generic case - at least they do around here, so no, the info may not be present, or even inconclusive, thats why I say check the features IN the movie.
