CloneCD write errors

I was using CloneCD off and on for a while. A few months ago it worked as well as everyone says on the net. now I can not get it to work at all.

typically I use Nero for making data CDs and Clone for CD copies. I can use Nero all day long with no problems.

I disabled the WinXP CDR support in the services as some have suggested.

Now I get an error "writing to CD failed, HARDWARE ERROR: NO ADDITIONAL SENSE INFORMATION( 4:0x08:0x03)"

Woody helped me get my ASPI to version 4.60.
XP pro service pack 1
AMD 1000Mhz
512 RAM
ABIT KT7A
Yamaha 2100 ( on the list)( MASTER on secondary IDE)
100G Western Digital (MASTER on Primary)

Any thoughts?

Hi bud..not really sure on this one.Is this an image you created?Or one that was downloaded? What version of Clone cd?

Are you using Cheap cdr's?

Clone 4.2.0.2
CDR are gold so according to the net they are the best.

Used Clone to make the image Need for Speed 5, kids love the game, but will destroy the CD. Tried the Clonyxxl to make the setting the best also.

Okay normally that error is bad media, but you just ruled it out.So I assume Clony set up the read and write options then?

It appears there must be something wrong with the software.Did you try uninstaling/reinstalling the software?Nero is working,so I suspect software or serial#.

Reinstall CloneCd,check your dma settings and autorun insert notification settings or disable autorun in windows.....
It's possible that windows tries to acces your empty cd,while CloneCd attemps to burn it....
Do also a CLEAN aspi install the way I posted in the other thread,to be shure you get totally rid of any leftovers from the 4.7x crap...this means:with your antivirus DISABLED!
.Nero works fine, because the 5.5.5.x.x versions use their own aspi.....:)

I also forgot to mention that you don't need any additional aspi drivers if you only use CloneCd and Nero on your system....they have their own communication drivers....it's stuff like your copyprotection detector that can't live without windows aspi......:)
