With CloneCD 3.3.4.1 (or whatever the last official 3.x version was) the "Hide CDR Media" option in the CloneCD tray worked fine. It hid the ATIP from programs like CDR Identifier and all CDR recording programs. All could find no info about a recordable disc. This was 2ith 3.3.4.1 on Win98SE. However, on my Win2K machine this option never worked. CDR Identifier "saw right through" the option. After upgrading to ClonCD 4.0.1.3 (forgot to check when I had 4.0.0.1 installed) on the Win98SE machine, now it behaves like 3.3.4.1 did on Win2K - CDR Identifier and recording programs SEE THE MEDIA!!
Both machines have the region settings set to English (Carribbean) to enable the amplfiy weak sectors option and the hide CDR media options.
So, does this option no longer work if you've changed region settings in windows, but pretends to allow you to use it? Or, is it smarter and only hides it from games that check for it, but not from CDR programs? It seems like "good" programs that check the ATIP would use the same procedure calls as the games would, so I cannot believe it's this smart. Also the fact that it worked with 3.3.4.1 on Win98SE and not on Win2K makes me believe its something else.
Any ideas? Help!
