CladDVD XP

Has anyone used this program before, if so what are the settings and how reliable is it?

CladDVD XP works in Win XP only and since I run a more stable platform (Windows 2000) I'm sorry but I cant help you. Anyone else?

I use SmartRipper almost exclusively, simple to use, rips by Movie, Chapter, Angle, rips out unwanted Audio tracks, etc, etc. Its also one of the fastest rippers around.

I think better off just using Smart Ripper or DVD Decrypter.
Proven to work well in all environments.
I have not tried the latest CladDVD XP, but previous versions. Was so so, but using just Smart Ripper now ('cause no need for anything else).

I've done a bit of work with this CladDVD XP now and I'm finding it to be a very good program. It had DVD2AVI built in so in effect it cuts out one of the processes in Chickenmans tutorial. The only draw back I can see is you must be present when the rip has finished and DVD2AVI starts so you can get the info from that program. Otherwise no problems at all. You dont need to get DVD2AVI.VFP files and copy them into TMPGEnc folder either.
I've been using Chickenmans tutorial for about 12 months now and have used CladDVD and Smart ripper and both of these work fine. CladDVD XP is just another ripping program that includes DVD2AVI, If you have XP I beleive it's worth it. Any program that make thing eaiser without quality loss has to be worth a try.

Thanks for the info. I have read elsewhere however, it does not give a correct D2V file for many DVD's. I would proceed with caution, but please report back after you have done many rips and if any probs experienced.

I have been very pleased with this product. I used it a lot to make VCDs until I started using DVD2SVCD for SVCDS. The homepage of the guy who made it has a pretty good tutorial on how to make VCD and DIVX using the programs, plus he keeps it updated. Check it out.

I've done about 15-20 DVD rips with this now and can't fault it. My earlier concern about needing to see DVD2AVI run to get the info was incorrect. If you look down the bottom of the window it tells you what you need to know. There a lot of settings to play with if you want but I'm using all default settings and have had 99% success. The only DVD that did not rip proberly was a Thailand DVD of Colateral Damage and it only ripped 3 of the 4 vob files. I couldn't figure out why. There is an option to rip into one big 4g file and that stopped at the same spot. I'm thinking a disc problem, however the DVD plays fine. If your after more user hands on for tweeking your rips, stick to Chickenmans tutorial and the recommended programs. But if your just ripping for the prupose of coping, then CladDVD XP is a good program.
