Choosing to boot from WinXP or Win2K

Hi, I have 2 HDD's.
On one I have XP and on the other - 2000.
Is there a configuration in XP that will let me choose which HDD to boot from, without altering the BIOS everytime?
Or perhaps a piece of software? Thanks.

you should be able to use ntdetect.exe for it (somewhere on your C drive. I haven't done this in a long time but we did have a few big topics on this before.

I suggest maybe give system commander a try. It has been one of the better software that controls multiple OS boots.

i have 4 o/s on my system 98 2k xp redhat 8.0 you need to install 2k first then i suggest botting from xp cd then choose which partition you want to install xp on when all is finished right click my computer select properties advanced then choose which os you want to boot from

Im using Acronis OS Selector, it's a nice Bootmanager with a lot of features like patition resizing and a nice interface.

afgok, it won't work like that if you already have 2 seperate HDDs & win2K on one & winXP already on the other.
He didn't want to do a clean install all over again... at least that was the impression I got, otherwise yes, you would install from win9x to NT, 2K, XP, Linux (& those flavours) on in that order.

ok shadoe_phantom you are right but what he can do is use the repair function NOT the auto repair but the one that says "found additional xp installation do you whish to repair/delete" correct me if i`m wrong but i think that this will then re-install xp but all your apps will still be available and installed it should also re-write the MBR which when you boot up boots to the GUI giving you the option of which o/s you want to boot
