Chickenman.

I just wanted to drop you a small note and let you know that I am very thankful for you instruction you have provided on ths forum. I think that some people will agree with me that when you are starting out and learning the ropes there is not alot of people that will show you what to do.

Thank you chickenman for taking the time to teach the newbees how to rip movies and to do it with quality.

ahh btw, if you have a working copy of vcd easy, can you send the link to me as I have d/l it from so many different sites including the homepage of vcd easy and they are all corrupt.

Thanks for the kind words. There are 100's of tuts all over the net but unfortunately most are written in technical terms and not intended for the newbie. I tried to write a tut that a first off neebie can read and produce a good result first go. I hope I have achieved that.

As for VCDEasy, not sure what the problem is, I downloaded my copy and have upgraded many times all from the Homesite (I like to get stuff directly from the horses mouth, so to speak) and all have worked as expected, no corrupt files at all. Sound like you have a problem with your downloads. Turn off your download manager if you use one.

Thanks for the tips but I dont use download managers or anything like that, it has been my experiance that they are more trouble than they are worth. I do use a firewall maybe that has to do with the problem.

Have you ever thought about doing a tut for newbee's that deals in all the different versions of burning, well the main one's anyway...nero, easy creator ect....I think that would be very usefull indeed!

I agree on the download managers, more pain than they are worth. Yes, I would dissable your firewall and try downloading again from their home page.

Yes I could write a tut on simple burning for newbies, but what ever I write will not suit everyone. I would not recommend EZ CD Cremator, not even to a newbie as all it does is make your total sytsem unstable. Then Nero is fine for VCD burning but lousy for SVCD. Each have their good and bad points.
