how do i rip a dvd movie into its same format so i can burn it on my own dvd media and will it have all the chapters and so on. what is the best way to do this

Well if its bigger than 4.7 gig U will have to either Split it (DVD Xcopy does that Im told) or compress it & I aint sure how to do that

DVD Decrypter - Mode - ISO - Read and then Write to DVDr but as the Poacher wrote, only if the size is smaller than 4,7 GB

dvd2one will give u the film plus all chapters and subs/audio u want.
Expect some video degredation on 2 hour movies and longer, but thats a matter of taste and I'm a perfectionist!

You need to do abit of homework first. Have a read of this tutorial http://www.cdrbase.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26515 for some basics and advanced dvd to dvdr.

Programs like dvd2one and the new Pinnacle InstantCopy v 7 can rip the dvd to one dvdr with picture/audio/chapters and subtitles. InstantCopy can do Menus and Extras as well but quality never as good as in the Tute above. Both are VERY easy to use and designed for "newbies".
