never mind chickman i got it i have anuther question though after ive cnverted the svcd to vcd hw come nero still encodes it does the video lose quality when it does this?

When u say it encodes it do u mean it checks it(30 secs or so)?
Or does it actually say that this is not a conforming vcd?

i mean when u drag the mpg in the window and anaylses it and says sumthing similar then u habve to click on rencode or it won burn so will it lose quality?

yes Nero's conversion is very poor (to put it politely, it SUCKS!!). Many people are happy enough with them though lol.
Not sure what method you used? You can try this (I think CM mentioned this before):
on the latest versions of dvd2avi, instead of having audio to demux all tracks (that is the default), set it to just "Demux (AC3, MPA, DTS)" . Included a picture of this for you (choose the one highlighted in blue & see if this works better for you *should only give one file for sound).
