Celeron or PIII

I want some info on Celeron 1A GHz and PIII 1A GHz. What is the difference as both have 256Kb as cache memory.

Regards.

the celeron would have a 100MHz FSB Vs the 133FSB on the P3

note that there are two versions of the celeron @ 1GHz going around (Coppermine-128 , 0.18m) & (Tualatin-256 , 0.13) , 128KB L2 Cache vs L2 256KB Cache , the Tualatin-256 is FC-PGA2 making it incompatible with older Socket 370 Motherboards.

Changing my system from PII 400 to Celeron 1A GHz - Tualatin Technology

This is a no go...a Coppermine is the only cpu you can use with your board.

Coppermine/Pentium3 = FCPGA
Tualatin = FCPGA2

With a Slot1/Fcpga board you are not able to use a Tualatin.

Go with a Celeron1100/1000 Coppermine but be sure that your board and bios will support these Cpu´s.

I have changed my mother board also, as it was'nt supporting 40GB HDD. By the way already done it. Thanks for the info. and concern.
