Every time I try to burn a image file or backup to a cd, i get the error message error: WRITE command failed on device 1:0:0 illegal command request (04h 00h 02h 05h 27h 00h). Can anyone help me? thanks in advance.

could be you have a bad unlocking key.
You will need to search for one that doesn't mess-up registry.
*don't forget that even with a bad unlocking key, cdrwin will still say it was unlocked & working fine, even though it isn't*
*Bilto also has a good suggestion. Suggest you use aspi layer 4.60 & not 4.70 (though cdrwin also installs its own if needed
