CD Writer

Hello to all,
I am using Samsung SW 240B (40x12x40) Writer. Though I don't have any problem with it, I am considering to purchase either Sony's 40X(because of name), or LG's 48X, or ASUS 32X. Here in my country Yamaha or Liteon is very expensive, so I am not including those. So what should I do? Plz help.

Regards.

Curious...are you trading this Samsung in or you just looking for another Burner? I mean if you are happy... ;)

Asus makes excellent Mobo's but their CDR's are a crapshoot. LG's are are the same. Sony's are more reliable, but can't handle many copy protections. However you could get lucky, Sony's are at times LiteOn OEMs in disguise.

But most important of all...what do you intend to burn with this new drive?

Actually I am assembling a computer for a friend and he wants a Samsung's writer, so I have a option of giving mine as its just 15 days old and getting a better one for me.
I need just to write some CD's for my collection, audio cd, basically personal use. No nothing great to do with copy protection stuff.
Sony is just $12 more and I can very well spend that amount to get sony instead of Samsung.

Regards.
