Cd protection or what?

have a burned copy of V-Rally but it won't run. When I try to run it my cd drive starts to read it then nothing happens. I copied the original cd with CCD.

Anyone know what's going on?

Now I just tried to install a burned copy of Civ III and during the install setup asked me to insert the disc with data3.cab on it. I checked the burning disc (I don't have the original now) and data3.cab is indeed not there.

What's this about?

Thanks.

yea

there was probably some copy protection. Use clony to detect the protection and it will set cloneCD to the proper settings for you to burn the CDs. If you get safedisc 2, remember to turn on aws (amplify weak sectors) for the writing process.

You can thank Woody for this one :p

data03.cab

had the same problem "please insert disc 0 with data03.cab" when i got hold of a copy (backup sorry) of harry potter...i managed to correct the error by creating a new image of the currupt disc using clonecd (after checking with clonyxl)and then extracted it via winiso then re-burned it via nero and now it just says "currupt crc" when installing but gives me the option to ignore this. I did this and now the game installs and plays fine. Hope this......

1. makes sense.
2. helps

Problem solved. I, umm, found my original cd and made a backup that works now. I also used a a little tool called unsafedisc. Voila!

Thanks for the suggestions.
